Health officials announced healthy 2, 3 and 4-year old children can get the new H1N1 flu vaccine this weekend in Missoula. The Health Department will offer doses of the vaccine in the nasal mist fom at a special community clinic on Sunday from 10am to 4pm at the health department. The vaccine is free of charge. Children must meet these criteria to get the vaccine.
*2, 3 or 4 years of age.
*Missoula County resident
*Healthy
Children can not receive the vaccine if they:
*Are allergic to eggs.
*Have a history of Gullian Barre Syndrome
*Have had a previous reaction to a flu vaccination.
*Have a weakened immune system
*Are on long-term aspirin therapy
*Have chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease
*Have a cold or other illness at the time of vaccination
*Have received seasonal flu nasal mist, an MMR, or chicken pox immunization within the past 28 days.
*Are <5 years old with a history of recurrent wheezing.
