The economic downturn could be coming to a close in parts of Montana. According to a report by MSNBC and Moody's Economy Missoula is one of 79 metro areas across the country where the recession is in recovery. That stat is based on job, manufacturing and housing numbers. But economists we spoke with told us being in recovery doesn't mean people are in the clear. They say Missoula residents won't see an upswing until the fall of 2010. Bureau of Business and Economic Research Director Patrick Barkey says Bozeman and Kalispell were not included in the MSNBC study because they are not considered metro areas. But he says both areas were hit harder than Missoula because of the decline in construction.
