Montana Opposes Wolf Lawsuit

Montana's wildlife managers say wolf recovery is over and now it's a question of management.
Today, the State Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks  waded into the middle of a federal lawsuit that asks the court to reverse plans for wolf management and put the wolf back on the Endangered Species List.
The State says they oppose relisting and they’ll oppose any effort to bring an injuction against the state's management plan.
The Director of Montana FW & P says Montana's wolf population is growing and well protected by montana law.
Current estimates put more than 500 wolves in Montana.

And How Many Elk Have We Lost?
By Toby Bridges on 08/13/2009 11:27AM
We've already lost too many elk because of the legal posturing and foot dragging by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service...and a U.S. Dsitrict Court judge who tends to side with the bleeding heart environmental groups, like the clueless Sierra Club and worthless Defenders of Wildlife. FWP biologists determined this spring that the cow to calf ratio is not strong enough to sustain a huntable elk herd. So, who do the sportsmen of this country file a lawsuit against to recoup the billions of dollars (of their money) that was spent to rebuild deer and elk herds over the past hundred years? Someon
