Update on Montana's two biggest wildfires

The Kootenai Creek fire in the Bitterroot National Forest is growing while crews are pulled from the Bielenburg fire north of Anaconda.
The Kootenai Creek fire is now at about 400 acres. The Kootenai Creek Trail, and a half mile on each side of the trail is closed as are area lakes. Flames have reached the ridge between Kootenai Creek and Bass Creek. Managers called in helicopters to drop water on the fire's southern flank.
Meanwhile, firefighters are pulling off the Bielenburg fire north of Anaconda. About 160 firefighters will be reassigned after containing the north east and south flanks of the fire. About 40 will still be on the fire lines and specialists are looking at long term management plans for the west side.
