The Montana Governor’s Office of Community Service announced today a "Fire Ready, Montana" statewide tour of community events that includes an event at Missoula’s Grant Creek Inn on Wednesday, August 26, from 5pm-9pm.
"While this year has been a great year for moisture, as we in Montana know, next year may not and it is always important to be prepared for wildfire season," said Governor Brian Schweitzer. "We all can pitch in and take personal responsibility with simple steps to create ‘firewise’ zones around our own homes; the time to act is now." Governor Schweitzer said.
"Fire Ready, Montana" outreach is part of the newly launched Are you Ready? statewide campaign that is funded through a federal grant from the Department of Homeland Security’s Citizen Corps .
